PREVIOUS MUN

The Youth of United Nations Association of Tanzania has been hosting Tanzania International Model United Nations since 2013 as a new modality of the former MUNs which used to involve participants from only Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar Isles.

This new version was started to incorporate participants from other countries as well and provide a networking opportunity for Tanzanian youth.

2016 – “Youth’s Role in Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals”.

TIMUN 2016 was a historic conference that discussed most pressing global agenda of sustainable development goals (SDGs), with focus on the role of most vital population in realization of SDGs that is youth. TIMUN 2016 brought together 182 youth from different part of Tanzania and 18 from other countries, including United Kingdom, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya, Namibia, Gambia, and South Sudan. The conference was held at East Africa Community Headquarters, Arusha from 23rd to 27th May, 2016

2015 – “Empowering Young People to Engage in the Post 2015 Agenda: A Call to Action.”

The conference was held in Dodoma Tanzania from 26th April to 29th April 2015 at the Pius Msekwa Hall in the Parliament House. This conference was preceded by regional workshops in Dar es Salaam, Lindi, Mwanza, Pemba, Tabora and Unguja as the Regional Model UN. The conference was attended by about 180 young people from 6 African countries,

2013 – “Millennium Development Goals, Youth Envisioning Social and Economic Development Strategies for Post 2015”

The first Session of the Tanzania International Model United Nations (TIMUN 2013) took place in Dodoma at Pius Msekwa Building from 03rd April to 06th April 2013. The number of participants recorded this year was 65 females and 95 males while invited guests totaled 20. These were youth from 10 Secondary schools and 20 UN Chapters (from Universities and other Higher Learning Institutions) and youth not in academic institutions.
