JOHNBEST MWAHAJA

A young leader pursuing Bachelor Degree on Procurement and Logistics Management at Tanzania Institute of Accountancy. Johnbest is a national leader at Youth of United Nations Association Tanzania (YUNA), and a Tanzanian Youth Sustainable Development Goals Champion. Johnbest has played part as a leader in the millennium development goals campaign in 2012-2015. As a fast growing initiative and with a great prospect of taking Youth in Tanzania to take part in the achievement of UN Agendas. YUNA Tanzania has been able to arrange a number of projects and programs to engage youth with the UN Agendas. TIMUN Conference, Fun Thursday, LINDA GOLI LAKO, Climate action and SDGs Champions are some of the programs organized to facilitate the achievement of youth participation within the UNITED NATIONS AFFAIRS. Johnbest believes that with such programs and activities will ensure the empowerment of our fellow youths in bringing changes that we all need in Tanzania and Africa in general.

Is a brilliant young man; interested in areas of population including gender based violence, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, HIV and population dividend issues. He has years’ of experience working and advocating for youth’s rights and development under several youth's organizations. Currently he is an AfriYAN Tanzania Deputy Secretary General, also working as a volunteer in UNFPA Youth Advisory Panel. He believes that in partnership and joining hands together we will reach the agenda 2030: to achieve sustainable development goals "No one left behind".

IRENE A. KIJANGWA

A Young lady with an Advance Diploma in Information Technology and a certificate in Social Work. She is currently working as a Talent Acquisition in a locally owned Human Capital Firm specializing in Selection & Placement, Learning & Development together with human resources Consultancy services aiming to reduce the national unemployment level and improve the living standard of the average Tanzanian citizens through training and coaching in both social and career development

Irene has been a TAYPA AMBASSADOR 2015-2016 (TANZANIA ANNUAL YOUNG PROFESSION AWARDS) that aimed on identifying as well as endorsing young leaders and role models within the local market. In records Irene has attended a number of conferences both national and international, THE DAR ES SALAAM MODULE UNITED NATIONS HELD IN 2012,and the first TIMUN-Tanzania international module united nations conference in the year 2013. As a devoted volunteer, she is currently a volunteer at Her initiative an integrated brand approach that re-frames the values of girls and shapes new social norms that breaks the cycle of poverty. She is an upcoming Presenter on MKULIMA SHOW which will base on Agribusiness with the aim of helping and supporting Tanzania’s agriculture sector and strengthen it by linking small farmers to agribusinesses for boosting incomes and medium economic level population within the country. At the grounds she is honored to be part of the TIMUN 2017 ORGANISING COMMITTEE full of energy to ensure the succession of the 2017 TIMUN.

BADRU JUMA RAJABU

Is highly skilled communications specialist with 2+ years of experience in internal and external communications, public relations, and management of NGO’s. His distinguishing trait is that he treats communication as entertainment. The reason is simple: if something is not funny or relevant enough, people switch the channel. Badru comes with extensive WASH knowledge and experience. Previously, he worked in Tanzania communities as a water advocate. He then worked in the Youth program office at DonBosco Tanzania, and most recently worked with Global Peace Foundation as the Senior Country Youth Director – working on access to information ,peace and poverty issues. Badru has served on the steering committee of Open Government Youth Network, Partnership Initiative, representing civil society. He has also consulted for a number of organisations, including the Commonwealth Youth Health Network of Commonwealth. Badru has a special interest in personal branding and believes that the road to success is all about effort. Based in Dares salaam, Tanzania, he is determined to uncover the secrets of how successful people and companies communicate. He currently is a member of Open Mind Tanzania, an NGO focused on youth development, capacity building, and youth participation in politics, governance, security, conflict resolution, national and international peace and stability, and other nation building ingredients.He is still a serving member of various youth-based organizationson consultancy including the World Youths Alliance and the United Nations Youth Association in Tanzania (YUNA), Commonwealth Youth Health Network,Global Change Makers, and a signatory to the East African Community Youth policy. He is also an Ambassador of the Global Peace Youth Corps and has spoken at various conferences and seminars particularly in the South and East African coast.South Africa,Paris France and London UK. Furthermore, Badru is the Principal Co-Fonder of Makerere University’s East African Community Chapter which assists young students in career development, personal branding, leadership, and civic engagement.He is glad and blessed to be part of the Organizing Team of 2017 TIMUN .

LILIAN JOHN

Is a second year student at the University of Dar es Salaam pursuing her bachelor degree in political science and public administration. She is a young determined social activist who believes in equality among all people within the universe as well as work hard as the main objective towards achieving success. Lilian john has succeeded in attending a number of leadership training including the young leader’s forum under the German institution FES-TANZANIA. Again she is one of the sustainable development goals ambassadors volunteering under the youth of United Nations association. Lilian has participated in various programs including the ‘with and for girls’ program as a panelist within the Sub- Saharan zone under stars foundation. Lilian John is a positive minded young leader she believes in work hard as the main tool of achieving success, she adds up volunteerism as a tool of success since she has managed to cultivate great life experience within leadership and diplomatic arena as well as social life experience in general. She is currently a member of YUNATZ, and CDI. Again, Lilian has attended a number of national and international conferences as well as workshops. Including the east African module united nations in dar es salaam-2013, east African climate summit in Uganda-2015, trust women conference in London- 2015, Tanzania international module united nations in arusha- 2016, and the African youth dialogue in dar es salaam-2017. She is humbled to be within the organizing committee of TIMUN 2017.
